Seneffe, February 18, 2015
In the last few years, the chemical industry has been faced with REACh (the directive for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), a process aimed at improving the general knowledge and control of chemical products.
REACh comes now with the CLP regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging), that applies from 1st of June 2015:
— The classification, labelling and packaging of mixtures must conform to the DPD regulation (Dangerous Preparations Directives) and to CLP rules.
— Substance classification according to DSD regulation (Dangerous Substances Directive) must be displayed on the safety data sheet, in addition to the CLP classification.
— The classification of a mixture according to the DPD must be displayed on the safety data sheet.
— In case a mixture is classified according to CLP, the CLP classification must be displayed on the safety data sheet.
